A few weeks back, the South Dakota Deaf Anglers were holding their annual tournament on the shores of Lake Oahe near Pierre. The Fishing Crew founder Curt Underhill helped me get in touch with his childhood friend and group member Paul Fosheim for a chat while they fished for northerns in Cow Creek. I learned a lot from this passionate group of anglers, and had a blast chatting with them for a few hours.

In 2009 Scott Brewer, Kyle Agre, Curt Brewer and John Dickelman ventured north of the border to ice fish Lake Winnipeg for the first time. It was an adventure from the start and would lead to many more trips to 'Big Windy' and many more memorable adventures. It was also the start to some incredible friendships with the folks in the WAAM (Walleye Anglers Association of Manitoba) club including an annual tradition between FM Walleyes Unlimited and WAAM in holding their Lake Winnipeg Ice Fishing Excursion, bringing 200+ anglers to the big lake for a gathering full of comeraderie, fun and fishing.

Daryle has many proud moments, but one of his favorite fish is a special brook trout in northwest Nebraska.

Brad Beeler always loved fishing in Pierre, but when job change brought him here permanently, he eventually put his fishing to work for him full time. Walleyes, salmon, smallies, northerns and everything else that swims in the Missouri is in his repertoire.

Nobody could believe the size of the fish that Andy pulled out of Gull Lake in northern Minnesota. Even more unbelievable to everyone was what Andy did with it after he caught it!

Roger Goeschel found the love of his life when he met Jane. Not only was she smart and beautiful, but she shared many of the same interests and Roger. He remembers her fondly.

Bob Landberg is an 83 year old angler from North Platte, NE who loves to fish. He's had some epic adventures over the years, and has the photos to prove it. We dusted off some of those rusty old photos and shared some of his memories from out on the water. Salmon, walleye, battles won, and battles lost.

Dan and Joyce Frasier chatted about Joyce's favorite fishing memory. It included a small stream in northern Minnesota and a potential world record sunfish.

Shawn and family friend Jeff were on a fishing adventure in North Dakota when the unbelievable happened. They had to work together to catch a fish that had almost bested them all.

Jason Durham had a lot of great mentors and fishing opportunities while growing up in northern Minnesota. But there was one resource that inspired him and motivated him to do more.
